Wreath Meringues

 

These adorable wreath meringues are the perfect crisp and crunchy festive holiday treat for the holidays.

Things you'll need

Ingredients
  • 3 large egg whites, room temperature
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Decorations
  • Bows: Red Haribo Sour Streamers Gummi Candy
  • Sprinkles: red, white, green
  • Piping tips: #32 star tip
  • Royal Icing

Equipment

  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment paper
  • Piping bags
  • #32 star tip
  • Stand mixer

Let's get started!

  1. Preheat the oven to 225F°. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. 
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the egg whites, cream of tartar and salt.
  3. Whisk on a medium speed, until foamy.
  4. Pour in the sugar slowly, while the mixer is running.
  5. Beat the meringue on high speed until it's glossy and has stiff peaks, about 5-8 minutes. 
  6. Add the vanilla extract, mix until combined.
  7. Scoop the meringue into a large piping bag fitted with a #32 star tip. 
  8. Pipe stars in a circle on the parchment paper creating wreaths and sprinkle with red and white sprinkles.
  9. Bake the wreaths for 1 hour. Then turn off the oven and leave door closed for 2 hours. Do not open the oven door to check on them. 
  10. Remove form the oven and let them completely cool. 

Time To Decorate!

  1. Make candy bows out of the Sour Streamers.
  2. Use a small amount of royal icing to attached the candy bows and let dry at room temperature, about 20 minutes.
