Wreath Meringues
Things you'll need
Ingredients- 3 large egg whites, room temperature
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Bows: Red Haribo Sour Streamers Gummi Candy
- Sprinkles: red, white, green
- Piping tips: #32 star tip
- Royal Icing
Equipment
- Baking sheets
- Parchment paper
- Piping bags
- #32 star tip
- Stand mixer
Let's get started!
- Preheat the oven to 225F°. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the egg whites, cream of tartar and salt.
- Whisk on a medium speed, until foamy.
- Pour in the sugar slowly, while the mixer is running.
- Beat the meringue on high speed until it's glossy and has stiff peaks, about 5-8 minutes.
- Add the vanilla extract, mix until combined.
- Scoop the meringue into a large piping bag fitted with a #32 star tip.
- Pipe stars in a circle on the parchment paper creating wreaths and sprinkle with red and white sprinkles.
- Bake the wreaths for 1 hour. Then turn off the oven and leave door closed for 2 hours. Do not open the oven door to check on them.
- Remove form the oven and let them completely cool.
Time To Decorate!
- Make candy bows out of the Sour Streamers.
- Use a small amount of royal icing to attached the candy bows and let dry at room temperature, about 20 minutes.
