Fruit Nerdy Nummies Gummies

Homemade Nerdy Nummies Fruit Gummies

My elementary school teacher asked me what my favorite subject in school was and I answered "Snack time!". Whether it's before, during, or after school, it's always a good time to enjoy these fruity snacks. Their shape can be changed using any silicone mold you'd like; I used the one from my baking line.

Yield: Makes 10 dozen gummies

Things you'll need

Ingredients

Grape Gummies

  • 1 cup grape juice
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 3/4 teaspoon citric acid

Orange Gummies

  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 3/4 tablespoon citric acid

Strawberry Gummies

  • 1 cup pureed strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3/4 tablespoon citric acid

Equipment

Let's get started!

Grape Gummies

  1. Grease the silicone candy molds with cooking spray.
  2. In a small saucepan, mix the grape juice, gelatin, and maple syrup. Mix well to remove any lumps. Allow the gelatin to bloom until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a simmer, whisking occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in citric acid until completely dissolved. Let cool slightly, about 5 minutes.
  5. Using a squeeze bottle or dropper, fill each mold cavity.
  6. Refrigerate until the gummies are set, about 1 hour.
  7. Pop the gummies out of the molds and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
