Guardians of the Galaxy Cassette Cookies

Let's get started!

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.
3. In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to beat butter until softened. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla and almond extracts.
5. On low speed, mix in dry ingredients until well combined.
6. Shape dough in to 2 discs about 1 inch thick and wrap discs in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 to 24 hours.
7. Roll dough out on floured surface to ¼ inch thick. Use a cassette tape cutter to cut out cookies and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment.
8. Use a lollipop stick to press in the final details of the cookie (PICTURE at 4:01).
9. Freeze cookies for 10 minutes.
10. Bake for 12 minutes, rotating cookies half way through.
11. Remove cookies from oven and allow to cool completely.

Time to decorate!

1. Roll out white fondant and then use cutters to create a cassette label (PICTURE at 4:46).
2. Use a ruler to guide a red edible marker horizontally across the label to make lines. Start in the middle of the label and draw each line thicker as you make your way to the bottom (PICTURE at 5:05).
3. Write “Awesome Mix Vol.2” in blue edible marker above the red lines.
