Holiday Treats

 

These holiday treats are perfect for the holiday season. They're so easy to make and my whole family devours these when I make them for Christmas. I hope you enjoy them! Happy holidays!

Things you'll need

Ingredients fo Santa's Cookies
  • 2 1/2 cup Flour
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 eggs 
  • 2 sticks of Salted Butter (room temperature)
  • 1cup White Chocolate Chips
  • Red and Green M&Ms

Ingredients for Santa's Pancakes

  • 1 1/2 cups Flour
  • 3 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/4 cup Milk
  • 3 tbsp Melted Butter
  • Strawberries
  • Whipped Cream
  • Melting Chocolate

Ingredients for Reindeer Corndogs

  • Corndogs
  • Ketchup
  • Mayonnaise
  • Black food coloring
  • Large Pretzels
  • 3 Squeeze bottles (optional)

Ingredients for Gingerbread Smoothie

  • 3 cups Coconut Milk
  • 2 frozen Bananas
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp Ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp Stevia
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tbsp  Molasses
  • 2 cups Ice
  • Gingerbread Man Cookies
  • Whip Cream

Let's get started!

For Santa's Cookies

  1. Preheat your oven to 375F . Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well in each addition.
  5. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until well combined.
  6. Fold in the white chocolate chips.
  7. Place 2 tablespoons of batter on the baking sheet and make sure they are 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the oven for about 7-9 minutes.
  9. While the cookies are still warm, place some red and green M&M's on top of the cookies. OPTIONAL: add more white chocolate chips on top.

For Santa's Pancakes

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder and sugar.
  2. Add the milk, melted butter and egg. Mix until well combined.
  3. Place a greased medium sized frying pan over the stove and heat over medium-low.
  4. Place 4 tablespoons of batter onto the frying pan. Flip the pancakes once the bubbles start to pop.
  5. Remove the stem on your pancakes and cut a thin slice on top, then cut the strawberries in half.

Time to decorate!

  1. Place a pancake on a plate, take the strawberry half and position them on top of the pancake to make it look like a Santa hat.
  2. Take your whipped cream and make a line on the bottom of strawberry layer. Add his beard and the pom pom of his hat.
  3. Place a thinly sliced strawberry in the middle of his face for the nose.
  4. Pipe some melted chocolate for Santa's mouth.

For the Reindeer Corndogs

  1. Bake the corndogs according to the box instructions.
  2. Using a serrated knife, slice the pretzels down the middle. Make a small diagonal cut on each half to resemble reindeer antlers.
  3. Fill three squeeze bottles with mayonnaise, ketchup and mayonnaise tinted black.

Time to decorate!

  1. Take a corndog and two pretzel antlers and stick it to the sides. 
  2. Squeeze a tiny dot of ketchup for the nose.
  3. Add two dots of white mayonnaise for the eye balls and add two smaller dots of black mayonnaise for the pupils.

For the Gingerbread Smoothie

  1. In a heavy duty blender, mix together the coconut milk and frozen bananas until smooth.
  2. Add the stevia, cloves, ginger, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and molasses.
  3. Take half of the ice and add it to the blender. 
  4. Once smooth, add the remaining ice and blend again.

Time to decorate!

  1. Pour the smoothie in a cup, top it with whipped cream.
  2. Add a straw and small gingerbread man.
