Sailor Moon Brooch Piñata Cookies

 

Today I made Sailor Moon Transformation Brooch Piñata Cookies!

Yield: makes 3 cookies

 

Things you'll need

Ingredients
  • Sugar cookie mix
  • Cookie Icing
  • Pink food coloring
  • Star Sprinkles
  • Mini Gumballs: red, blue, green and yellow
Equipment
  • Large circle cookie cutter
  • Small circle cookie cutter
  • Hand mixer
  • Rolling pin
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Let's get started!

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Prepare the cookie mix according to the packaging instructions.
  3. Add pink food coloring to the dough and mix until well incorporated.
  4. On a flat surface, sprinkle some flour and roll the dough to 1/4" thick.
  5. Use the large cookie cutter to cut four circles.
  6. Take the smaller cookie cutter and cut out smaller circles inside two of the bigger ones.
  7. Transfer the cookie to a baking sheet.
  8. Bake the cookies for 5 minutes. Let it cool completely.

Let's get started!

  1. To assemble the piñata cookies, take a full round cookie for the bottom and pipe a thin layer of frosting around the edge.
  2. Place an open circle cookie on top and pipe another thin layer of frosting.
  3. Place the second open circle cookie on top.
  4. Add the star sprinkles in the center.
  5. Pipe a thin layer around the edge and seal with the remaining full circle cookie.
  6. Draw a circle outline all around the cookie.
  7. Draw a star inside the outline.
  8. Add a small circle inside the star shape and fill it in.
  9. Place a large round candy in the middle.
  10. Attach the small gumballs using the pink frosting.
