Santa's Trash Cookies

 

These simple Santa's Trash Cookies have everything you could want in a cookie - sweet, salty and crunchy!

Makes 28 cookies

 

Things you'll need

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup potato chips, crushed
  • 1/2 cup pretzels, crushed
  • 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons red sprinkles
  • 3 tablespoons green sprinkles
Equipment
  • Hand mixer
  • Non-stick baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

 

Let's get started!

  1. Preheat the oven to 375F°.  
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in the egg, mix well. 
  5. On low speed, slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. 
  6. Fold in the potato chips, pretzels, chocolate chips and sprinkles.
  7. Place 2 tablespoons of dough into the baking sheet 2-inches apart. 
  8. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes.
  9. Let cookies cool on the tray for 1 minute. 
  10. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
