Makes 3 dozen macaroons & 16 vegan macaroons
Things you'll need
Ingredients- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 14 ounces shredded sweetened coconut
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons caramel sauce
- 1 tablespoon coconut sugar
- 1 1/2 ounces chocolate baking squares, melted
- Large mixing bowl
- 3 medium mixing bowls
- Whisk
- 3 wooden spoons
- 3/4 ounces ice cream scoop
- Baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Baking spray
VEGAN Macaroons
Ingredients- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
- 2 cup shredded sweetened coconut
- Large mixing bowl
- Whisk
- Wooden spoon
- 3/4 ounces ice cream scoop
- Baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Baking spray

Star Trek Tribble Macaroons
- Preheat oven to 325ºF.
- In a large bowl, whisk together egg whites, granulated sugar, vanilla extract and salt until frothy.
- Use a wooden spoon to mix in the coconut.
- Divide mixture evenly into three bowls for three flavors: vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Fold melted chocolate into one bowl. Fold caramel sauce and dark brown sugar into another bowl. Leave the third bowl plain.
- Use a cookie scoop to place macaroons onto a baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Vegan Coconut Macaroons
- Preheat oven to 325ºF.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine coconut milk, flour, salt, vanilla extract and sugar and whisk until well combined.
- Use a wooden spoon to mix in coconut.
- Use a cookie scoop to place macaroons onto a baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
